Jan. 5th, 2011 13:41Friday December 31, 2010 New Year's Eve
The Mnstf New Year's Eve party was in an area where buses back to Minneapolis weren't likely to run after midnight. I could reach Tapestry Folkdance easily by bus, return most of the way by bus after midnight. Or I could walk back.
So I attended Tapestry Folkdance's New Year's Eve celebration.
There were contra and international folkdance in separate studios. More than twice as many contra dancers as international dancers. I believe International was the core group when Tapestry started.
They had a dessert potluck. Two similar batches of cookies had signs saying "female" and "male." These got changed to "chips/no nuts" and "chips/nuts."
Noted on the schedule: In January, Nordic Dance would concentrate on polkas. Including Irish, Polish, and German polkas.
I did more watching than dancing; I'm considerably out of practice.
Oh -- I ended up walking both ways.
