Thursday April 1, 2010 I felt a need for strange political ideas, and began looking up Charles Fourier on the web. For samples, see http://arthur.u-strasbg.fr/~ronse/CF/fourier.html

"Angelic couples (who do not give themselves to each other until they have satisfied dozens of other suitors) lead multimodal celadony to its most glorious heights, providing love's public service."

It seems he lives on as a computer program ... "Charles Fourier Free Full Download, Charles Fourier Warez, Charles ... Charles Fourier download, Charles Fourier crack, Charles Fourier serial, Charles Fourier keygen, Charles Fourier 2007, Charles Fourier 2009, Charles Fourier ..."

SEND ME TO GLORY IN A GLAD BAG
(Don and Mim Carson and Steve Mason)

People tell me that I ought to save my money
So that I could be laid away in style,
In a walnut box with all the fancy trimmin's
Vacuum sealed to keep me fresh a while.

cho. But Send me to Glory in a glad bag.
Don't waste a fancy coffin on my bones.
Just put me out on the curb next Tuesday
Let the city sanitation bear me home.
.....

Now it may be that I am not bound for Glory,
But to another place I would not choose;
So if it seems that I'm headed that direction,
An oven bag would be the thing to use.

Swing low, sweet sanitation vehicle
or (sweet vehicle)
Comin' for to carry me home

***Errands. To the Metro Transit store in Downtown Minneapolis, for a copy of the #540 bus schedule. It's the bus which goes to the Minicon hotel from the Mall of America.

After which I went to Spire credit union; picked up prescription meds at HealthPartners Riverside (I expect to switch to mail order by next month); got groceries at Target.

Paintable electronics? NIST studies spray-on manufacturing of transistors
A multidisciplinary research team at NIST has found that an organic semiconductor may be a viable candidate for creating large-area electronics, such as solar cells and displays that can be sprayed onto a surface as easily as paint.

Stone Age Scandinavians unable to digest milk
The hunter-gatherers who inhabited the southern coast of Scandinavia 4,000 years ago were lactose intolerant. This has been shown by a new study carried out by researchers at Uppsala University and Stockholm University. The study, which has been published in the journal BMC Evolutionary Biology, supports the researchers' earlier conclusion that today's Scandinavians are not descended from the Stone Age people in question but from a group that arrived later.
