JUNEAU, Alaska — A Juneau man has filed a lawsuit trying to compel the state of Alaska to prove that President Obama is qualified to be on the ballot.
Gordon Warren Epperly claims in the lawsuit filed in Juneau Superior Court that Obama's citizenship status is unknown, and that Obama was illegally inaugurated in 2009, KTOO reported.
...
Epperly also questions U.S. Rep. Nancy Pelosi's right to run for federal office. He claims that as a woman, Pelosi has no inherent right to be a U.S. citizen or to hold office.
"There are no provisions in the Constitution of the United States that grants Women 'Political Rights' of Suffrage to hold any Political Office of the United States Government," the lawsuit says.

***Science fiction conventions don't always run flawlessly. Readercon had a firm policy on harassment of other attendees -- harassers were banned for life. Now, they've banned a man for two years for harassing a female attendee. (No, his life expectancy isn't that short.)
The harasser (according to the Readercon board's report, he admitted guilt) is a former World Science Fiction Convention co-chair, is on a Worldcon bidding committee, and is otherwise prominent in sf fandom. Some cynics are unkind enough to think his prominence influenced the decision to punish him more leniently than the con's rules called for. (Me? I suspect it, but I'm not certain.) The board's statement says not; it was because he realized what he had done, and was contrite http://readercon.livejournal.com/21805.html
I learned about this on Twitter; followed links to LiveJournal. Sent information to Mike Glyer at File 770, who then did a good article on it (with links.) http://tinyurl.com/dyxna6s
